dc.description.abstract This lithograph is a portrait of de Rigny. It may be of interest that around this time, in november 1833, Daumier did his first "portraits" as wood engravings which appeared on the front page of the Charivari. These "heads" which represented various politicians appeared over a large number of years in various combinations in the Charivari. en_US
