Abstract:
This paper examines a number of questions regarding Israel educational trips, in particular, is the impact of the trip influenced by the individual characteristics of the participants and is there a more or less propitious time to visit in order to maximize program impact? Most Jewish communal policy to date has been to emphasize teen travel to Israel. The data presented here points to the need for increased attention to recruiting and providing expanded Israel programs for Jews of college age in addition to maintaining current emphasis on teen trips.
