dc.description.abstract A transcript of an interview with Sam Muller by Linda Carter, Leigh Swigart, and David P. Briand. The interview took place on May 27, 2015 at The Hague, Netherlands, and the transcript, which is represented here, has been reviewed and edited from the original audio version. During the interview, Muller reminisces on creation of the Coordination Council by ICTY Judge Jorda to ensure communication between different sectors of the ICTY; thought process leading to election of Ad Litem judges; impact of Bruno Cathala to develop indicators for efficiency within Registry that were then implemented by Hans Holthuis; determination of Judge Jorda, Muller, and others to use French in the Tribunal despite it being more comfortable for most of the employees to use English, and transitioning into Registry at ICC. Muller also discusses his role in negotiating victim and witness agreements; coordinating investigations in Kosovo; differences between civil and common law systems; life cycle of ICTY; need to develop and fund ICTY outreach; ICTY lessons for ICC, and future of international justice. . en
