Islamic, ʾUmayyad Period, Israel, c. 700 C.E.
Triangular, snout-shaped terracotta lamp with a hole in the bulbous center to the front of the conical handle, black residue around the smaller hole at the spout from use in antiquity. The top is heavily encrusted with faded radial designs on the shoulder. Loose clay fragment inside the lamp which has since been removed. The base is decorated with a radial pattern within a ring.
