dc.description.abstract This print shows Louis Désiré Véron courageously taking the lead in a group of followers supporting Prince Louis in the upcoming elections. He still wears his comfortable slippers, while Thiers already holds the victory laurels in his hands. Changarnier tries to look dangerous with a drawn sword and is determined to push their candidate forward by all means. The three men supported the election of Louis-Napoléon for President of the Republic, using the paper "Le Constitutionnel" as a vehicle. "Rue de Poitiers" was the headquarters of various reactionary groups.
