dc.description.abstract This prints depicts a typical bourgeois family of the time. The entire family is dressed up for Sunday, the son proudly sporting the school uniform of a prestigious Napoleonic elite school. The name "Badinguet" was the name Louis-Philippe used four months earlier when escaping from the prison of Ham. The Paris middle class then had already begun to support the future King, Napoléon III.
