dc.description Published in: Le Charivari, February 26, 1833
dc.description.abstract This print refers to the end of the paper "Le Figaro". Daumier includes a list of subscribers at the bottom, which had become smaller and smaller, driving the paper into bankruptcy. "Le Figaro," in contrast with "Le Charivari," represented the "juste milieu" in France and supported the July monarchy. Accordingly, its reputation with the Republicans was quite bad. It eventually reappeared in 1835.
