dc.description.abstract A boatman is helping a lady board their little boat. The rest of the boatmen are behaving impeccably. In this image we will note one of the five sailors from the Nouveau marnais, called Le Gibon, gallantly helping the young lady to step aboard while the oarsmen are holding their oars at attention. Judging from the text, we are not convinced that they are quite sober.
