This paper provides an introduction to the established fields of
corpus linguistics (CL) and learning analytics (LA) and explores the
intersection between them. We discuss the promise and inherent limits
in applying computational techniques to semi-automate LA tasks, and
investigate possibilities for integrating social networking into LA
systems. After an overview of some existing LA and CL projects, we
posit potential future projects which would be informed by the
philosophy and experiences of both fields. |
