dc.description.abstract Men are swimming and splashing about in the river Seine. PARIS DANS L'EAU, a series of 2 rather simple prints, which appeared in the JOURNAL AMUSANT on July 9, 1864 and were reprinted in the PETIT JOURNAL POUR RIRE in June 1876. According to information by Provost one of the "Bathing Boats" called "Petit, Ecole de Natation" was moored very close to Daumier's house at the Quai d'Anjou on the river Seine. This print has been produced following the system GILLOTAGE. en_US
