Abstract:
Two soldiers complain that they have been told by their superior that they will have to get out of Italy on their own; meanwhile, their superior (Gyulai), climbs into a fancy coach.
In this print we can see the Austro-Hungarian General GYULAI, Ferencz (1798 - 1868). He acted as Field Marshal and War Minister for the Austrian Empire in 1849 and 1850. He became Commander-in-chief of the Austro-Hungarian Army in Italy in 1859 and was defeated by the French in the battles of Magenta (June 4, 1859) and Solferino (June 24, 1859).
