dc.description.abstract Elkin argues against the position that the purpose of education is to give children answers, leading them to the truth. Teachers, according to Elkin, should liberate themselves from the burden of supplying the answer, encouraging curiosity and assisting children in discovering the complexities and ambiguities in our world.
