dc.description Late Byzantine, Provincia Syria-Palaestina, c. 450 – 550 C.E.
dc.description White clay lamp with a wheel-and-spoke pattern encircling the central opening, clear though obscured on the right-hand side by encrustation which makes its way past the handle and appears among the spots of charring at the mouth of the wick-spout. A corrosion of a lighter color appears on the bottom, filling in the valleys of a double-ringed base.
