Abstract:
Coste realized that by taking a fish out the water to examine its health that the fish does not feel well. Jean-Jacques Marie Cyprien Victor Coste (1807-1873) was a naturalist and member of the Academy of Science (1851) as well as a professor at the museum and Collège de France. In 1858 he proposed that various types of fish were to be introduced in the lakes of the Bois de Boulogne.
