dc.description.abstract The print refer's Louis Désiré Véron's decision (1798-1867) to retire to his country estate in Auteuil, a suburb of Paris. The reason for this decision was the failure of his law concerning the dogs of Paris as well as the sale of his shares in the newspaper "Le Constitutionnel" for 1,900,000 francs to the banker Mires in 1852.
