Roman, c. 100 – 200 C.E.
The bronze bird figurine has a narrow head, small hooked, pointed beak, and impressed eyes with ridges above them. The breast bulges, leading to two legs that are missing feet. The wings protrude from the side of the body, wide on top and narrowing to a pointed end. The feathers of the wings are represented by long, straight incised lines. The piece suffers from mild “bronze disease.”
