dc.description 2nd state.
dc.description Published in: Le Charivari, June 6, 1850.
dc.description.abstract The print shows the newspapers supporting the Government, burning the ballot-papers of those electors, who under the new law had forfeited their right to cast their vote. We can recognize Véron representing the "Constitutionnel" and two old witches. One of them is the National Assembly, the other the newspaper "La Patrie". At the same time little Thiers blows into the flames to keep the fire going.
