Title The Arithmetic of U.S. Jewry
Author: Saxe, Leonard; Kadushin, Charles
Description: Published in The Jerusalem Report in November 2003, this Op-Ed calls into question one of the most widely cited findings of the 2000 National Jewish Population Survey. Although public reaction to the report focused on the diminishing size of the American Jewish Community, an understanding of the survey methodology reveals that this is its least reliable funding. The survey instead provides rich data about more nuanced questions regarding Jewish identity, education and attitudes towards Israel.
