dc.description Byzantine Era.
dc.description Bronze stylus for use with wax-filled boards, used in antiquity as notebooks. The pointed end would be inserted into the wax as the scribe or literate individual wrote, and the axe-like end would be used an eraser to squash the wax back into itself so that it could be used again. Byzantine Greek letters line both sides.
