dc.description.abstract A rather undistinguished officer is pointing to a party and insisting that it is quite distinguished. Louis-Philippe regularly gave balls at the Tuileries. This print is a Republican version of the type of balls that Louis-Philippe regularly held at the Tuileries. The vomiting man is Schonen and Atthalin and Leopold can be seen in the background as well.
